چکیده

Chemical profiling the sage essential oils (SEOs) from wild and cultivated (shaded or non-shaded) plants has been investigated. The yield of SEOs (3.51 mL/100 g) was higher than that plants(shaded plants: 3.20 g non-shaded 2.56 g).The main components SEO were cis-thujone (43.2%), camphor (17.6%), 1,8-cineole (13.8%), veridiflorol (3.8%) borneol (3.4%).The chemical composition included > 1,8-cineole. Net shading lowered content toxic in (23.5%) is therefore recommended order to achieve better quality compared (cis-thujone 28.3%).The thujone much this drastically reduces EO. Cultivated found have stronger antioxidant activity 6.16 mg/mL 7.49 ± 0.13 mg/mL) (9.65 mg/mL). isolated are good sources natural antioxidants with potential applications food pharmaceutical industries.

Chemical and genetic relationships among sage ( Salvia officinalis L.) cultivars and Judean sage ( Salvia judaica Boiss.).

The essential oil composition and genetic variability of common sage ( Salvia officinalis L.) and its three ornamental cultivars ('Purpurascens', 'Tricolor', and 'Kew Gold') as well as Judean sage ( Salvia judaica Boiss.) were analyzed by GC-FID, GC-MS, and random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD). Common sage and its cultivars contained the same volatile compounds; only the ratio of compounds d...
